Drainage for stormwater requires a network of pits and pipes for minor to moderate flood events and provision of overland flow paths for major flood events.  Provision of ‘minor/major’ components in a drainage design is a requirement as per the Australian standard practice, which is elaborated in the Australian Rainfall and Runoff (AR&R).
